Last year, ithrive31 partnered with Mary Greeley Medical Center to make external coaching available for all their leaders. Through this partnership, we have been able to offer support to leaders in a very personal way. This opportunity sends a message: “We care about your wellbeing.” The message that comes back from leaders who participate is 100% appreciation and a resounding “Thank You, we appreciate you offering this support to us.” It also allows leaders the tools they need to become better coaches for the employees and teammates they work with on a daily basis. We interviewed Mary Greeley Director of Human Resources and Education, Penny Bellville, MS-HRD, SHRM-SCP, CCP, SPHR about her experience working with ithrive31.

When dealing with a person who exhibits condensing, manipulative or toxic behaviors, remember, their need to exert power and control is more about them than it is about you. My personality calls me to lead in some way. Whether it was leading my two sisters and three brothers in making household decisions growing up or whether it was leading a team of 30 people operating a Marketing organization. My calling has been taking care of people. My definition of leadership has changed over the years. At first, I was…
I remember that day well. It was a Sunday in the spring. My husband and I left church and headed to the grocery store before heading home. In the parking lot, I got the call from my boss. As his business partner, I had been working with him over the past month to reorganize the department, which I was a…
With so many of our beliefs and assumptions being challenged over the past two years, the role of coaching in organizations should also be challenged. A common concern I hear from many of my high performing clients is their calendars are so blocked with meetings that they need to do work outside of work…
This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday. What a great way to start the workweek by showing love to your colleagues. Here are 8 ways to spread love in the workplace: Bring treats for the office. If you have a special recipe in mind, go with that. If not, pick up some donuts or bagels with cream cheese….
We hear it every day: It is important to live gratefully. Multiple studies link gratitude to physical, emotional, and social well-being. Research shows that people who focus on gratitude are happier, more resilient, more empathetic, and have stronger interpersonal relationships. Additionally, they have less stress, sleep better and take better care of themselves. All good stuff, but we all know…
What a challenging time it is for leaders in the middle of “the great resignation.” Many reasons prompt people to look for new paths, and this creates a challenging environment for leaders who are trying to hold it all together. It is one thing to read about it, but it becomes very real when I hear the personal impact from…
