Summer Bucket List Ideas for 2023

Oftentimes summer brings a more relaxed schedule and time to try new things. Here are some ideas for branching out while having some fun this season!

Go on a road trip: Plan a fun road trip with your friends or family to a place you’ve always wanted to visit. It doesn’t have to be far away, either! Some of the best spots are located right in your state. Make sure to plan some stops and activities along the way — it could even just be for a picnic at a roadside stop — to make the most of the trip.

Attend an outdoor concert or festival: Many cities and towns host outdoor concerts and festivals during the summer months. Bonus: lots of these are free! Check out the schedule of events in your area and plan to attend one or more.

Learn a new water sport: Summer is a great time to try a new water sport, such as paddle boarding, kayaking or water skiing. Sign up for a lesson or rent equipment and try it out on your own.

Have a picnic in the park: A classic that never gets old. Pack a picnic basket full of your favorite snacks and head to a local park for a relaxing day outdoors. Bring a blanket, some games and enjoy the sunshine.

Visit a national park: There are many beautiful national parks across the U.S. Plan a trip to one and spend some time hiking, camping and exploring the great outdoors.

Watch a movie under the stars: Many communities host outdoor movie screenings during the summer months. Grab a blanket, some popcorn and enjoy a movie under the stars. You could even set one up at home with a projector pointed toward your house or garage door.

Host a BBQ or summer party: Summer is all about grilling, so it’s the perfect time to host a BBQ or summer party with friends and family. Grill up some burgers and hot dogs, play some games and enjoy the warm weather and time spent together.

Enjoy your summer!
